Breaking iPhone 5S, Hackers Create "Artificial Finger"

The fingerprint scanner is one of the main features of the iPhone 5S which is claimed to improve the security of Apple's new flagship smartphone.

However, the facilities "lock" the phones may not be as safe as people think because a group of hackers (hackers) from Germany managed to find a way to break into the iPhone 5S fingerprint scanner, just two days after its launch on the market.

As reported by The Guardian, hacking group called the Chaos Computer Club fingerprint scanner foist iPhone Touch ID using "fake finger".

The trick is rather complicated. First of all, look for samples of "high quality" of the fingerprint to "lock" the iPhone. Fingerprint samples can be taken from the glass, door levers, or any shiny surface that can display the fingerprint pattern clearly.

Fingerprint samples were then clarified with powdered graphite before photographed at high resolution, in the range of 2,400 pixels per inch (PPI). The images then laser printed to a plastic slide projector, then coated with wood glue, cut, and pasted into a real finger belonged to the hacker.
