Amanda Bynes Placed Under Psychiatric Hold

The former child star was allegedly trying to start a fire in an elderly woman’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif. near the retirement home she was accused of trespassing Tuesday night (July 22). After the police interrogated her, they placed her on a “5150 hold” which holds Bynes for up to 72 hours pending mental evaluation, TMZ reports.

“Amanda Bynes was involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood last night in Thousand Oaks in the 200-block of Avenida De Los Arboles,” Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said. “Deputies investigated the incident and determined that she met the criteria of 5150 W&I (California Welfare & Institutions Code). She was detained and taken for a mental health evaluation.”

Whether Mandy’s behavior is due to a nervous breakdown hidden by dimple piercings and slipshod wigs, here’s to hoping she gets better soon.
