British Add "Cyber" Army

Britain wanted to strengthen the defenses of the Internet by increasing the number of cyber army (cyber). British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond said he would recruit hundreds of cyber soldiers in the team called Joint Cyber Reserve.

The team is made up of hackers, programmers and internet experts who are assigned to spy online, while keeping network security from all attacks. The government will raise the defense budget in the cyber space.

"Last year our cyber defenses to block some 400,000 dangerous cyber threats to the Internet and government. Threat is real," Hammond said as quoted by Reuters on Monday (09/30/2013 ).

Cyber Joint Reserve will work closely with several UK agencies, including the Department of Defense and the UK Government Communications Headquarters Center.

"Building a cyber defense is not enough," Hammond said." Britain will build a special ability to counter-attack in cyberspace, and if necessary carry out an attack."

He did not say clearly where the attack was coming from. However, the sources of the British Government indicate that the large number of attacks originating from China and Russia.

Separately, Hammond told the Mail newspaper that a cyber attack on Britain could disable enemy communications, nuclear and chemical weapons, aircraft, ships and other hardware." Our troops can use cyber weapons with conventional weapons in future conflicts," he said.

In July, a group of British lawmakers said that the country was losing the battle internet attacks. At least, the hackers from 25 countries chose English as their primary target.
