Drake Speaks On If He'll Be Involved In Big Tymers Album

Posted by Unknown Kamis, 08 Agustus 2013 0 komentar

Drake talks about the possibility of a Big Tymers album, revealing that Birdman has yet to reach out about it.
We heard a few months back about the possibility of a new Big Tymers' album from Lil Wayne, who said that Drake may be thrown into the mix. Shortly after, it was revealed that one of the original Big Tymers, producerMannie Fresh, would be taken out of the mix.
Mannie Fresh had something to say about this, declaring that Lil Wayne and Drake are not Big Tymers. More recently though, it sounds like Mannie Freshis being included in the reunion album. Birdman said that he's been in talks with Mannie. It appears he hasn't yet talked to Drake about this project though, as Drake told MTV News he has yet to receive the call about it.
Nonetheless, Drizzy is certain he'll be involved. "I didn't get the phone call about that," Drake said, caught off guard. "But I'm sure I'll be involved."
"I would've loved to bring the Big Tymers out [at OVO Fest], that would've been crazy," he continued. "But maybe we'll save that for next year."
The Toronto native went on to say he has not spoken with Baby directly about a Big Tymers album, but heard about it as everyone else did, when Birdman initially revealed plans for one.
"Mannie Fresh is an incredible guy and of course Birdman is one of a kind," Drake said. "I think I heard about it or watched some of it, and then I got people being like, 'You'll never be a Big Tymer, your shit is terrible — just going off on me."
Drake continued, "So I'm not the one being like, 'Oh I'm a new Big Tymer'." He added, "[But] I'm down though, to work on anything. If Birdman calls me to work on something I'ma work on it."

Three ATLiens known as Migos are on their way to blow up, in part due toDrake hopping on "Versace," thus starting a snowball effect of "Versace" remixes. Many people are still unfamiliar with Migos, and so there first ever visit on The Breakfast Club served well as an introduction to who the rising rappers are.
Right from the get-go, Migos clarify there is actually three of them, and no, Migos is not just one rapper. The third member, Offset, is currently in jail. Quavo and Takeoff did the interview with Power 105.1 together, revealing how they first met Drake and how the "Versace" remix came about.
Quavo told The Breakfast Club, "We met him at Birthday Bash. He said he was riding to the tape on the way down there." Takeoff added, "He started naming our songs on the mixtape."
"I told him we gotta work, and he's like if we do something we gotta do something on the tape. So I sent him "Versace," Quavo continued. "He sent it back asap." When asked if they were surprised that Drizzy was such a fan, Quavo responded, "We was shocked 'cause he a major artist. He got bars."
They did reveal that they have more tracks in store with the Toronto native, however Takeoff said, "We gunna keep it in the vault though."
The conversation continued to reveal details about Migos. The rappers aren't signed, and they want to stay independent so they have better control of what they do. "We gunna keep it independent," the rappers confirmed.

There's A Petition Out Against Drake & J. Cole For The "Retard" Lyric Used In "Jodeci" Freestyle

Posted by Unknown Jumat, 19 Juli 2013 0 komentar

An online petition is out against Drake and J Cole for the "retard" lyric used in their recent collab "Jodeci".
2013 is not the year to slip up lyrically if your an artist. With Rick Ross and Lil Wayne both losing lucrative endorsement deals after spitting some offensive bars earlier this year, it looks like Drake and J Cole are the next targets in "watch what you say".
Drake and J Cole are both being targeted by an Anti-Bullying Alliance for their "retard" lyric used in their recent "Jodeci" freestyle. The Anti-Bullying group has already generated an online petition asking for a formal apology from each rapper, as well as the lyric/line being taken out of their song. The line being:
"I’m artistic, you niggas is autistic, retarded."
The petition has already received over 2,600 online signatures since being created on July 13th. Their goal is to reach 5,000, which seems likely to be reached soon. Anna Kennedy, an activist for autism, says:
"It's time we recognised [sic] people with autism for the exceptional human beings that they are and make a stand."
An outcome to this petition isn't guaranteed, but its just more proof that rappers need to be careful in what they say. People are listening.
Do some people take lyrics too literal? Or do artists really need to watch their lyrics more?
